The wonderful city of Calabasas is located just a short drive away from our dental office, and there are plenty of awesome attractions to enjoy in Calabasas and surrounding areas. Southern California is known for its wonderful weather, and there are lots of outdoor activities in the Calabasas region. Also, film and history lovers will enjoy visiting the Leonis Adobe Museum or going for a drive down the historic Mulholland Drive.

Also, if a friend or family member accompanies you to your appointment, they can take advantage of surrounding attractions while they wait for you to finish your visit.
The Topanga State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area preserves over 11,500 acres of the Santa Monica Mountains, and it contains 76 miles of trails. It will be hard to believe that you’re in a city when you step foot in Topanga State Park. In fact, it’s sometimes referred to as the largest state park within a city limits in the United States. There are plenty of places to hike and take in some beautiful views. You might even see some wildlife, and there are campsites if you choose to stay overnight.
For those with an adventurous spirit, you should check out the hike at the Cave of Munits and Castle Peak. At the end of your hike, you’ll find a fun vertical cave to explore called the Cave of Munits. You don’t need any ropes or gear to get through it, but it’s a cool experience. After you exit the cave, you’ll finish the hike with a steep ascent up to Castle Peak. The peak offers awesome, panoramic views of the west end of the San Fernando Valley.
With over 2,000 acres of open space, the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve is a prime spot for hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. It contains magnificent rolling hills, a plethora of sycamore trees, and beautiful California vistas. Unsurprisingly, many western films from the 1920s to 1950s were filmed here.
Film lovers should go for a drive down Mulholland Drive. This road contains great views of the San Fernando Valley, and it’s an important part of Hollywood history. The road is also featured in many movies, songs, and novels, and David Lynch even directed a film named after Mulholland Drive.
If you’d like to learn more about the extensive history of the Calabasas region and surrounding area, you should visit the Leonis Adobe Museum. This museum is dedicated to restoring, preserving, and sharing the last of the old west, and it gives you the opportunity to experience California ranch life of the late 1800s. It’s an excellent attraction for history lovers.
As you can see, there are plenty of Calabasas attractions to enjoy when you visit Agoura Hills Dental Designs for your appointments. If you’d like any recommendations, feel free to ask us during your appointment, and we’ll be happy to give you some suggestions on places to visit.
